While browsing TikTok and looking for creators who present Serbia in a positive and authentic way, I came across the profile of NemoDinge. His content immediately caught my attention because it focuses on Serbian culture, traditions, history, and everyday life, while reaching thousands of people across the German-speaking world and the Serbian diaspora. After following his work for some time, I decided to reach out to him. Despite his growing audience, Nemanja was incredibly friendly, approachable, and happy to share his story. I was honored that he agreed to do his first interview with The Serbian Daily. In this interview, NemoDinge talks about his Serbian roots, the inspiration behind his content, the challenges of being a creator, and his mission to introduce Serbia to a wider international audience.1. Can you introduce yourself to our readers and tell us a little about your background? Hi, my name is Nemanja, also known as “NemoDinge” on social media. I am 22 years old and live near Koblenz, Germany. I have Serbian roots and have always been closely connected to Serbia, its culture, traditions, and people. 2. How did the idea of creating content about Serbia on TikTok first come to you? I always felt that there was a lack of creators in the German-speaking region and diaspora who talk about Serbia in German and keep people updated on what is happening in the country. I wanted to fill that gap and create content that informs, entertains, and connects people with Serbia. 3. What inspired you to focus on promoting Serbia and its culture to a wider audience? I believe there are so many beautiful and positive things to talk about when it comes to Serbia. Whether it is sports, traditions, history, culture, or everyday life, there is so much worth sharing. Too often, people focus only on negative stories, but I want to show the other side as well. 4. What has been the most surprising reaction you’ve received from people outside Serbia? One of the coolest things for me is that people from Bosnia, Croatia, and even Albania follow my content. Respect has always been an important value in my life, so it makes me happy to see that there are many people from different backgrounds who appreciate my work and share that same mindset. 5. Which Serbian destination, tradition, or story do you enjoy presenting the most, and why? I think my favorite story is actually one of my own experiences in Belgrade. The city is incredibly open, the people are warm, and no matter where you are, you can start a conversation with someone and have a great experience. I remember being in a bar in Belgrade when an older gentleman started talking to me. We had a long conversation, and he told me about his life, how he had retired, and how he now spends his time traveling from one Serbian city to another. When I asked him which city was his favorite, I expected a specific answer. Instead, he said: “Every time I arrive in a new city, that becomes my new favorite city.” His reason was simple: wherever you go, you meet new people, learn new things, and create memories that nobody can ever take away from you. I think that perfectly describes the spirit of Serbia. 6. Have your videos changed the way foreigners view Serbia? Can you share any memorable examples? I have actually been recognized a few times and even been asked for photos. One moment that really stayed with me was when a young Russian approached me and said: “I feel very connected to Serbian traditions, and your content is some of my favorite content on TikTok.” Moments like that remind me why I started creating videos in the first place. 7. What challenges have you faced while creating content and growing your audience on TikTok? Since I set myself the goal of posting every single day, I would say consistency is my biggest challenge. I spend two to three hours every day researching, planning, and thinking ahead to create the best and most interesting videos possible. My biggest challenge is probably the high standards I set for myself. 8. What do you think are the biggest misconceptions people around the world have about Serbia? I think it is unfortunate that many people believe Serbia is a racist country because that has not been my experience at all. In my opinion, Serbia welcomes people regardless of their religion, ethnicity, or background. That is a message I want to continue sharing with the world. 9. What advice would you give to young creators who want to promote their country through social media? My best advice is simple: start. Take your ideas seriously and work on them every day. Try new things, learn from mistakes, and stay consistent. Sometimes consistency is even more important than quality in the beginning. Don’t get me wrong—quality matters a lot. But when you’re just starting out, quantity and consistency help you improve and grow much faster. 10. What are your future plans, and what message would you like to share with people who have never visited Serbia? My goal is to become one of the biggest Serbian creators, not only on TikTok but across social media in general. I would also like to expand to platforms like YouTube and Twitch in the future. My message to people who have never visited Serbia is simple: talk to someone from Serbia and keep an open mind. Let yourself be surprised. I can guarantee that many people underestimate what Serbia has to offer. Cities like Belgrade are vibrant, welcoming, and full of life, and Serbian people are often much more relaxed, friendly, and open than many expect.A big thank you to Nemanja “NemoDinge” for this interview and for being the first content creator to share his story with The Serbian Daily. His passion for Serbia, its people, traditions, and culture is evident in every video he creates. We wish him continued success and hope that his content continues to inspire people around the world to discover the beauty of Serbia.
