Serbia is expected to begin issuing redesigned biometric passports starting July 1, introducing updated visual elements and a refreshed appearance for one of the country’s most important travel documents. According to available reports, the new passports will feature a redesigned cover in a darker burgundy-red shade along with several updated design details and security improvements. The changes are part of a broader modernization of official travel documents. Authorities also confirmed that citizens who already have valid Serbian passports will not be required to replace them immediately. Existing passports will remain fully valid until their official expiration dates, meaning citizens can continue using their current documents without any additional procedures or urgent renewal requirements. The redesigned passports are expected to continue using biometric technology, which Serbia introduced years ago as part of international travel and security modernization standards. Serbian biometric passports currently allow visa-free or simplified travel access to a large number of countries worldwide.
